- Arrive to class on time to avoid distracting other dancers.
- Try to use the bathroom before class, especially for our younger dancers.
- Dancers are to give their teacher their full attention and to be respectful during class.
- Dancers must have their hair pulled back.
- Keep outdoor shoes off of the dance floor, and hands off of the mirrors.
- Parents must not enter the dance room while a class is in session unless approved by a teacher.
- No bullying! This means no laughing at other classmates, gossiping, negative comments towards an individual, etc. Everyone is at a different level with dance, so it is important to encourage and uplift fellow dancers. Students will receive one warning, then will be asked to no longer participate in classes if issues persist.
Studio Location Rules
- Dancers are not allowed to run in the hallways.
- Dancers, no exploring anywhere you shouldn’t be. Dancers are only allowed in the dance room, the waiting room, and the bathroom. We will be sure to show you around and make sure you know where to go!
- Dancers, if you have a break in between classes and your parent/guardian is not there, you must wait in the waiting room.
- Parents, you may wait for your dancers in the waiting room or lobby.
- Parents are more then welcome to leave while your child is dancing. Please be sure you or someone will be there to pick them up when they are done.
- Dancers, please be sure to keep the bathroom nice and tidy! Our bathroom is shared with the other businesses.
- Dancers and dance parents, let’s make sure to keep the space clean!
- Please always enter through the lobby door.
Class Attire/Recital Needs
Class Attire: Here at Jadyn’s Studio of Dance, we do not have a strict color code, however, we do ask dancers to avoid baggy clothing (except for in hip-hop) and no streetwear is allowed in any class (no jeans, no dresses, no skirts, no jean shorts, etc.). Dancers who do not follow dress code may kindly be asked to call a parent/guardian for a change of clothes.
Ballet Dress Code: Girls: leotard of any color, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and optional shorts/ballet skirts. Hair in a bun. Boys: plain shirt, black pants/shorts, and black ballet shoes. (Pink tights and pink ballet shoes for girls and black ballet shoes for boys are required for recital.)
Jazz and Musical Theater Dress Code: Girls: any athletic wear, leotards/sports bras/crop tops/shirts, shorts/leggings, tan or black jazz shoes. Hair pulled back. Boys: shirts, athletic pants/shorts, tan or black jazz shoes. (Tan tights for girls and tan jazz shoes for girls and boys are required for recital.)
Hip-Hop Dress Code: Girls and boys: baggy tops, baggy pants, tennis shoes that have not been worn outside. (Black tennis shoes are required for boys and girls in the recital.)
Acro Dress Code: Girls: leotard/tight tops, athletic shorts/pants, barefoot. Hair pulled back. Boys: athletic tops, athletic shorts/pants, barefoot. (Tan stirrup/transition tights are required for recital for girls.)
Lyrical Dress Code: Girls: any athletic wear, leotards/sports bras/crop tops/shirts, shorts/leggings, tan lyrical sandals and hair pulled back. Boys: any shirts, athletic pants/shorts, barefoot. (Tan Lyrical shoes and tan tights are required for girls for recital.)
Contemporary Dress Code: Girls: any athletic wear, leotards/sports bras/ crop tops/shirts, shorts/leggings, barefoot. Hair pulled back. Boys: any shirts, athletic pants, shorts, barefoot. (Tan tights are required for girls for recital.)
Heels Dress Code: Girls: any type of top, leggings/ shorts, knee pads, black dance heels. Boys: shirts, athletic pants/shorts, black dance heels. (Black dance heels required for girls and boys.)
Technique Dress Code: Girls: any athletic wear, leotards/sports bras/ crop tops/shirts, shorts/leggings, jazz shoes or barefoot. Hair pulled back. Boys: any shirts, athletic pants, shorts, jazz shoes or barefoot.
Company Dress Code: Girls: leotard of any color, tights of any color, optional shorts/pants over leotard, ballet and jazz shoes. Hair in a neat bun. Boys: athletic wear of any color, ballet and jazz shoes.
